About the Job

Airswift has been assigned by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to recruit a Project HSE Manager for their facilities in Dar El Salaam, Tanzania.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Embed and deploy the aims of the client and Project HSSE Policies into the Project, complying with the specified contract requirements.
  2. Integrate technical safety, health, environmental, security, design, and constructability reviews mandated by regulations and standards into relevant project activities, ensuring comprehensive resolution of safety issues.
  3. Collaborate with Risk Management to comprehend project-associated risks, aiming to develop controls for risk mitigation.
  4. Supervise the development of the Project Execution Plan – HSSE (aligned with Project requirements) and associated documentation, consulting project stakeholders to establish minimum HSSE standards for the Project.
  5. Supervise the development of the HSE Assessment and Loss Prevention Inspection Plan.
  6. Review all project documentation (as per the document distribution matrix) to guarantee sufficient coverage of HSSE considerations.
  7. Work closely with Project R3, ensuring cross-functional engagement.
  8. Take responsibility for project HSSE performance reporting (in line with project and Worley corporate requirements), presenting HSSE performance reports to the Project Management Team and Assurance Manager.
  9. Participate in project start-up activities (Good to Go & Kickoff Process), ensuring EPC contractors understand the HSSE sections of the customer HSSE standards of work. Ensure that responsibilities, objectives, and targets are agreed upon and understood by all stakeholders.
  10. Facilitate the implementation of HSE elements of the Project processes, employ HSE tools to assess risk and enhance the effectiveness of the HSE element of the project systems. This includes regular Observations (SAZ), H3SE talks, training sessions, promotion of safe work practices, and ensuring interest & awareness of HSE&S is maintained at all levels of the project organization.
  11. Develop and implement HSE awareness campaigns, including the Project Zero Harm safety culture.
  12. Engage with EPC leadership to sponsor and support HSE across the portfolio.
