About the Programme: In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, BRAC International aims to impact 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women and 9.5 million people in East and West Africa. This project focuses on delivering scalable economic development approaches to foster the agency and voice of adolescent girls and young women.

Position (1): Officer, Technology (Applications)
Job Location: CHO

Purpose: The Officer, Technology (Applications), will play a crucial role in providing technical support, maintaining efficient operation of various web and mobile applications within BRAC International (BI). Responsibilities include troubleshooting application issues, resolving user queries, and ensuring the digitization and smooth process automation of program operations.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  1. Work with cross-functional teams for system implementations, enhancements, and alignment with business requirements.
  2. Support technology team in system/data integrations and reporting system design.
  3. Assist program and M&E users with large data analysis and design/build predefined and ad-hoc MIS reports from various applications.
  4. Ensure data quality and integrity into the systems, configure master data, and handle large volumes of transactional data reconciliations.
  5. Respond to user inquiries, incidents, and requests related to application functionality, investigate, diagnose, and resolve application-related problems.
  6. Troubleshoot web and mobile application issues, log and manage JIRA service help desk, severity prioritization, and escalation matrix.
  7. Lead applications testing, drive UAT, and manage new releases. Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new applications or upgrades.
  8. Prepare training plans and role-based user manuals. Manage online training portals and conduct training for users to enhance their capacity.
  9. Ensure effective IT policy implementation through creating awareness and technical guidance to staff.
  10. Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance application performance, user experience, and support services.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  1. Read, understand, practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members.
  2. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case of any reportable incidents, and encourage others to do so.

Required Skills/Capacity:

  • Three years of experience in mobile application development/configuration, program digitization, M&E framework, and/or relevant platforms.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and working on database systems.
  • Working experience in ERP systems is preferred.
  • Exposure to a wide range of strategic decision-making processes.
  • In-depth understanding of digital product/emerging technology business.
  • Experience in digital project management and skills in understanding business needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of software applications and functionalities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Drive, flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively work remotely and across time zones.
  • Fluency in English (spoken, reading, and written).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a relevant subject.
