Position: Digital Media Manager
Location: FAME Hospital, Karatu, Tanzania
Are you a passionate storyteller with a flair for creative content creation and design? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! FAME Hospital in Karatu, Tanzania, is seeking a dedicated Digital Media Manager to join our team. As a key member of FAME’s staff, you will play a crucial role in managing our digital media content, engaging with our donors, and fostering connections to support our mission of providing quality, patient-centered healthcare in rural and disadvantaged communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
- Capture compelling photos, videos, and stories that showcase FAME’s mission and programs.
- Produce bold and cutting-edge multimedia content with respect, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.
- Share regular updates, photos, and media projects with donors and the US office.
- Create engaging stories and design elements for monthly blogs, e-newsletters, and other external communications initiatives.
Social Media Management:
- Develop, manage, and post social media content on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Collaborate with the Development Associate to build social media campaigns aligned with development objectives.
- Maintain an organized and searchable photo database featuring patients, staff, volunteers, and programs.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Report on program developments, highlights, and milestones, assisting the US office in data collection and monitoring & evaluation procedures.
- Conduct interviews with doctors, nurses, staff, patients, volunteers, and donors to create captivating stories.
- Collaborate with various departments to stay informed about program initiatives and potential story ideas.
Strategy:
- Develop FAME’s communications calendar and social media strategy annually.
- Stay updated on communications trends in nonprofit and global health organizations.
- Identify gaps and develop special projects to diversify messaging, taking FAME’s communications strategy to the next level.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about access to quality, patient-centered healthcare in rural and disadvantaged communities.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across cultures with respect and collegiality.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple assignments independently.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work as part of a global team.
- Creative eye for design and art, with graphic design skills.
- Proficient in photography/videography.
- Experience living and working in East Africa; ability to work with the Tanzanian team while communicating primarily for an international, American audience.
- Swahili language skills are a plus.
