Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Visionary Leadership:
- Provide a compelling short-term and long-term vision for the fintech company, guiding its strategic direction.
- Public Relations:
- Engage in public relations activities, including public speaking and digital media, to evangelize technology entrepreneurship and represent the startup sector.
- Team Motivation:
- Motivate and lead a high-performance, innovative, and results-driven organization, fostering a culture of excellence.
Strategy & Planning
- Roadmap Development:
- Develop a comprehensive short and long-term company and product roadmap, aligning with organizational goals.
- Goal Implementation:
- Establish and implement short and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to drive organizational success.
- Team Building:
- Build and motivate a world-class team in product development, marketing, and customer service.
- HR Oversight:
- Assume responsibility for all elements of HR, including employee compensation plans and benefits.
- Financial Planning:
- Develop a financial plan for the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainable growth.
Operational Management
- Financial Oversight:
- Oversee the operating plan, budget, cash flow, and company finances to maintain financial health.
- Content Development:
- Create and revise all content while building a world-class content development team.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Establish strategic partnerships with other companies to achieve ambitious user growth targets.
- Executive Team Leadership:
- Build and lead an effective and cohesive executive management team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices.
- Performance Reporting:
- Establish, achieve, and report on financials and milestones to investors, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Requirements: Knowledge and Experience
- Education:
- University degree, preferably an MBA in business administration and finance.
- Professional Background:
- Prior experience in sales and/or leadership roles in a startup company, with a preference for a background in financial services.
- Leadership Skills:
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic Thinking:
- Ability to work strategically while also engaging in hands-on problem-solving.
- Communication:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Fundraising Expertise:
- Extensive experience in fundraising and investor relationships, especially in the NGO/Donor space.
- Regional Experience:
- Experience in East Africa and familiarity with the Financial Literacy domain.
- Team Building:
- Track record of building innovative, creative, and collaborative teams.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Strong desire to lead from a strategic and tactical perspective in all aspects of day-to-day company operations.
