APR Seeks Revenge Against Yanga
At 2:15 PM tonight, APR will face Yanga at the New Amaan Complex, with the Rwandan soldiers eager to seek revenge.
APR has never defeated Yanga, and the last time these teams met was on March 12, 2016, where Yanga secured a 2-1 victory in Kigali, with goals from midfielder Thaban Kamusoko and Juma Abdul through a penalty.
In the return leg at the Mkapa Stadium on March 19, 2016, Yanga advanced with a 1-1 draw, prompting APR to seek redemption from that point onwards.
APR goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila stated that they are aware of their historical struggles against Yanga but are determined to change that in today’s match.
Ndzila mentioned their respect for Yanga but emphasized that they have thoroughly analyzed their opponents in the last three encounters. He believes it won’t be easy for Yanga to defeat them considering the quality of their squad.
“Yanga is a very good team, but we will surprise them. We want to change that history, knowing they will come with a different team, and so will we,” said Ndzila, a key player in the team.
“We want to win this match. Passing through here, we see an opportunity to make history by reaching the final. To play that match, we’ll first have to overcome this big club at this stage,” he added.
