Key Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Strategic engagement: 40%

  • Coordinate the initiation, implementation and evaluation of Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS programs as well as developing a grant tracking system as per WVT and donor standards.
  • Ensure integration and implementation of Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS programs and projects
  • Review and update the Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS strategy and Annual operation plans.
  • Identify and develop best practices and share lessons learnt with WV entities and partners
  • Promote participation of children and women in Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS programming
  • Conduct Operation Research on WVT field work to contribute to Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS programming Knowledge and skills.

Number of abstracts/best practice presented in different platforms such as ANEC, JMR, symposiums etc

Sound record on implantation of integrated technical program

 

Health and Nutrition programming: 30%

  • Ongoing enhancement of World Vision’s Health & Nutrition programming at strategy, programme and project design levels for greater impact on child well-being. This shall include:
  • Support ongoing design processes related to all Healthy & Nutrition programmes and projects, including strategy alignment and review processes.
  • Keenly monitor programme and project quality at outcome and impact levels, facilitate evidence-based organizational learning processes and promote innovation for continuous improvement in programming impact.
  • Support relevant reporting functions, particularly at outcome and impact level, notably including the bi-annual Child Well-being Report.
  • Support effective implementation of Health & Nutrition programmes and projects through:
  • Technical guidance and support to programme and project implementation.
  • Technical capacity building of project staff, partner staff and other key stakeholders, as required

Resource mobilization: 10%

  • Engage in concept papers/proposal writing for fund raising
  • Continuously access, research, evaluate and promote best practices and resources in Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS interventions.

 

Ensure that all aspects of the project development, funding concepts and proposals are accurate and professionally prepared

Number of concepts peper developed

 

Reporting: 10%

  • Coordinate development and submission of Health and Nutrition finance and progress reports to Technical Program Leader
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly activities reports

Number of quarterly and monthly report timely submitted

 

Business Relationships and Networking: 5%

  • Support engagement with key stakeholders for influence, learning and resource development. This shall include, together with the Health & Nutrition Technical Lead:
  • Engage and build relationships with key partners and government counterparts
  • Engage with donor agencies and other stakeholders, from time to time, as required.
  • Health sector National level advocacy
  • Work with other sector specialist within and outside WVT to implement a Health and HIV&AIDS learning system to document, assess, share and replicate:

Financial and non-Financial resource management: 5%

  • Manage the WVT material and financial resources to ensure Stewardship and accountability in the Program Development Division.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

10 years’ practical experience in Public health including HIV/AIDS with a reputable organization.

At least three years’ experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Health and HIV&AIDS programs.

 

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

Master’s Degree in Public Health or other Health Sciences

  • Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field
