The Population and Housing Census is a national exercise conducted every 10 years where the last census to be held in the country is the one in 2012. Thus the Census 2022 will be the Sixth Census to be held in the country after the Union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar in 1964. Census others took place in 1967, 1978, 1988, 2002 and 2012.
2022 Population and Housing Census Commissioner Hon. Anne Makinda has called on Religious and Traditional leaders to provide education on the importance of the Census so that all citizens can participate fully in the 2022 Population and Housing Census.
The Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics – NBS through its official Website has issued the following important update regarding Ajira za Sensa 2022.
On May 05, 2022, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania officially announced the opening of applications for temporary jobs for clerks and supervisors of the Population and Housing Census to be held on August 23, 2022 through the Electronic Job Application System. The timeframe for receiving the applications was up to May 19, 2022 where the number of applicants reached 689,935 out of 205,000 required in the Population and Housing Census exercise.
Today May 27, 2022 NBS has provided public information / clarification on informal information circulating online about the list of names of clerks entitled “ORODHA YA MAJINA YA MAOMBI YA KAZI YA MUDA YA SENSA YA WATU NA MAKAZI YALIYOHAKIKIWA NA KUJIBIWA KIKAMILIFU“.
