Position Title: Higher Education Feasibility Study Lead

Reports to: Provost for Academic Affairs and Research

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 months with possibility for extension)

Overview:

The Higher Education Feasibility Study Lead will work closely with the Provost for Academic Affairs and Research on a project to collect existing information on higher education institutions in Haiti, as well as the current local job market. After thorough research, the Lead will create a report describing the quality and quantity of local higher education institutions currently operating in Haiti and their degree programs. In addition, challenges associated with operating an institution of higher education in Haiti will also be evaluated. This report will culminate with a current review of the job market. All of these areas will be assessed with a final report created and presented to the administration of UGHE-Haiti, which will include recommendations for the future. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the current administration of UGHE-Haiti on higher education research in Haiti

Develop a plan for the collection of information utilizing a timeline

Develop and share preliminary findings to present to the administration of UGHE-Haiti

Draft a final report

Create a final PowerPoint presentation outlining the process and key findings

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience, Doctoral degree with five years of experience preferred; conducting literature reviews, collecting information from multiple sources, synthesizing information, drafting professional reports

Background/interest in higher education, global health, and social justice.

Strong online search skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to interact professionally with a cross-cultural, international staff

Ability to work independently and take initiative; must be a quick learner, and easily adapt to changing circumstances

Advanced organizational skills and capacity to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail and quality

Ability to work effectively on a team in a complex, fast-paced environment

Fluency in English, French, and Haitian Creole required
