Description
Install various access control devices.
Program Access Control Panels & Systems
Install various CCTV camera types both Analog & Digital IP systems
Install & Program DVR Recording Units
Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings).
Install, terminate, test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
Dress and route cable into closets and control rooms.
Firestop various types of cable penetrations.
Performs installation & service of access control, intrusion alarm, closed circuit television systems, and other various security related systems.
Evaluates, diagnoses, and troubleshoots systems and performs repairs as necessary.
Performs upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability.
Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of required items.
Transports a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure availability of materials required at the job site.
Responds to emergency situations during or after duty hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns.
Performs computer program entry as required to add closed-circuit television cameras, access control devices, and intrusion alarm systems as needed.
Coordinates with facilities managers and other trades as needed to complete projects and services efficiently.
Assists in the development of training programs for employees as requested.
Informs personnel about procedures and/or status of systems to provide necessary information for making decisions, taking action, or complying with health and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Skills/Licensure/Certifications Qualifications include:
Certificate/Diploma/ Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
Minimum of 3 years related technical experience with security, surveillance, and alarm systems, Intruder alarm, access control including computer networking experience.
Familiarity with a wide range of tasks and technologies related to security systems, including pulling cable, installing various devices to include glass breaks, motion detectors, magnetic locks, card readers, and cameras, programming security/access systems, low voltage background, and testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting these systems.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely.
Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
Willing to work in tight, confined areas.
Working conditions/Physical Requirements
Work will generally take place during day shift hours; special circumstances may require weekends or Public holidays.
Work shall include traveling.
Work can take place both indoors and outdoors.
The job may include extended periods of standing, lifting of heavy objects, or repetitive tasks
Ability to carry heavy loads as needed.
Carry and climb ladders as needed.
