How to Set Up Keyword Tags on Your Blogspot Blog

Your business blog must appear in search results when Internet users enter relevant keywords to attract more readers and potential customers. You can insert a "meta" keyword tag directly into the code of a Blogspot blog using HTML editing.

Adding a keyword tag is one way to help search engines categorize your blog’s content and can be part of your search engine optimization strategy.

The keyword tag tells search engine robots the words and phrases that are relevant to your blog, so include search terms that match your business’s products and services.

1 Go to your Blogger account and log in.

2 Select "Template" from the drop-down menu next to your blog's title.

3  A pop-up window will appear when you click "Edit Html."

4  Select "Proceed" from the drop-down menu.

5   Look for the "head" tag in the HTML code, which is usually in the first few lines.

6   To identify your keywords, place them under the "head" tag. Type your keywords between the quotation marks in the "content" attribute, then separate them with commas and a single space. Single words or a short sentence of two or three words may be used as keywords. Add three to five keywords that are relevant to your blog.

7   Click “Save Template” to apply the changes and click “Close.”
